Chalo Soars into ZTA Quiz final
Chalo Trust School beat Kabulonga Boys Secondary School by a whopping 75 - 30 to qualify for the Zambia Tourism Agency, 'Explore Your Zambia' school quiz Finals. Chalo Trust School was represented by 4 extremely gifted students; Kalinda Mwango of grade 11, Ethan Kantu of grade 10, Nawale Nachula of grade 8 and Mapalo Mwango of grade 8.
The Explore Your Zambia quiz is the inaugural competition organized by the Zambian Tourism Agency to raise awareness and encourage Zambians, especially school pupils, to take a greater interest in local tourism. The quiz is televised every Tuesday on ZNBC Television channel 1 at 18:25hours. The winners of the competition will be awarded a holiday prize to one of Zambia’s tourist destinations.
The competition attracted 11 schools and is expected to come to an end by the end of October 2017. The schools participating were Lake Road PTA school, Munali Girls Secondary School, Chalo Trust School, Great North Road Academy, SOS Children’s Village, Rhodespark School, Kabulonga Boys Secondary School, Roma Girls Secondary School, Kabulonga Girls Secondary School, Matero Boys Secondary School and David Kaunda Secondary School.
Chalo Trust School began the semi-final against Kabulonga Boys with a bang. The students answered the first 4 questions correctly and opened up a healthy lead early on. From there, they never really looked back and flew all the way to finish line. The quiz will be aired on ZNBC either on Tuesday, October 17th or Tuesday, October 24th at 18:25hrs!
Next up for Chalo Trust School is a trip to the grand finale where we will face either Rhodes Park School or Kabulonga Girls Secondary School. The grand finale will be held at NIPA Hall and will be attended by several dignitaries. Best of luck to our talented young students.
